Jason’s Law
Finding secure parking has always been a extreme challenge in the trucking industry. More recently states have been shutting down safe areas to park for drivers due to limited funds. This has forced drivers to park in what could be a unsafe place, which is bad, very bad!
Please help by signing a petition to help get more “secure” parking for all drivers .“Jason’s Law” in an effort to encourage lawmakers to support legislation for secure parking options for the nation’s truck drivers.
Family and friends of Jason Rivenburg started circulating the petition after the 35-year-old trucker from Fultonham, NY, was fatally shot on March 5 while parked at an unlit gas station off Interstate 26, south of Columbia. Three suspects have been charged in the crime.

To make matters even worse, I was traveling thru Indiana the other day. A worker at the rest area where I stopped at told me that the state was shutting down 20 or more rest areas due to the lack of funds in the state and that was the best way they could cut the budget.
go figure, huh?
