The Truth about trucking-Eskimo Sean

stated by Sean on his description for the video:

Every trucker, with diesel in their veins, knows how hard the industry is. They also know, there’s nothing else they’d rather do. There is a time to step out of the truck, sometimes we may not heed the warning signs, but push that extra mile in. Eventually, it takes it’s toll.

The stresses of trucking lead to many health issues, From minor cases, that can change with habit or diet, to death. Most of you know John as Youtube user 18wheelsoffaith. 19 years on the road, countless miles under his belt. Each mile bringing him closer to today.

With past military stress, family issues, and everything that comes with driving, the stress has finally caught up. He is not a rare case. He is one of many drivers that crave the next mile. It’s what Trucking is all about.

All to often drivers in this situation are never noticed by the public. Another down fall of the ignorance towards Truckers and the industry. This video goes to all True Truckers, and by that, I don’t mean steering wheel holders you find in truck stops whining and complaining. I mean the ones who realize the lifestyle, the challenges, pitfalls, obstacles, hazards and still love the life.

But most of all, this video is for, and dedicated to John “big foot 18 wheeler” Blocker.
I thank him for his support, when I had to leave the lifestyle behind. Showing me from the other side what it’s like to move on.

  2. kanukster says:

@seansuth It took this guy only 8 months at finding out that trucking is a poor carrier choice. And you call him stupid for getting out so quick? Fuck your the dumb ass! How long before you figure it out? How many companies have you now driven for? How many times have been fucked by those company’s, and been layed over, with out pay, while your family wishes you were home? Yeah, you’ll learn. It just takes longer for some!

  3. kanukster says:

After 25 years of driving big truck, I know the down fall’s first hand. I’ve seen dozens of divorces, family’s split up, friends dieing! Drivers having heart attacks! Injury’s caused by unsafe working condition’s! Dispatcher’s fucking you, so they look good in their supervisor’s eye’s! The good is definitely out weighed by the bad! I gave and gave and gave some more, untill there was no more to give! Still, the company wanted more. Absorbing daily cost’s, sacrificing hours for free…

  4. kanukster says:

… Forced to drive at fucked up hours, in the worst conditions, only because your dispatcher fucked up! Missing family event’s, birthday’s, anniversary, holiday’s! Oh yeah, and spending your pay on eating at shit holes, designed to rob decent drivers of their hard earned income. Company’s not paying drivers for services rendered, even though they would charge others for similar services.Don’t make any difference what company your with. There’s nothing glamorous about trucking any more!

  5. seansuth says:

@kanukster Well, in YOUR FIRST comment, you say it took you 25 yrs… who’s the ultimate dumb ass?

  6. mhayes7400 says:

Good Luck, I am not a truck driver and I feel for you

  7. midnoon35 says:

Sometimes you gotta put your health before the road. Sometimes…

  8. wheelfire587 says:

It’s funny you see all these comments about people saying “show some respect for truck drivers” yet every time I get on the road I see the same disrespectful shit… practice what you preach.

  9. dmadalton says:

@kanukster that’s not just the drivers working or driving odd hours that’s the transportation sector as a hole

  10. lazyfaire says:

If you got it, a truck brought it.

  11. Orctooth says:

Funny how I remembered sitting in the truck class being promised gold in the industry. That was back in 1993. Today I am still looking for that gold. Thumbs up to you and John. Thanks to my arrogance, I missed out on alot of my family. (retired big trucker)

  12. i miss driving going to different places meeting different people. it was a real ride to and it was an honor to drive with them. it mad me cry i’ll admit it roll on driver roll onShockwave. Cornell MI

  13. raspykat says:

take care of your health bro… thanks for keeping the stores stocked….

  14. cbnut81 says:

I know how you must feel My life long dream was to be a longhaul trucker I don’t have a wife or kids so I was getting ready to go for it then the Doctor came in and he told me I can do almost any job except being a Truck Driver because I won’t pass the DOT Phyisical Because I have congestive Heart Failure,Type 2 Diabetes and some other Health issues.I Love driving on the interstate Highways and talking to the Truckers on my old CB. Catch you later be Chicago Kid on the side.

  15. JurisArcane says:

Let me tell you crap-talkin punks a thing or two about driving. This man says he was on the road for 19 years. Do you have any fucking idea how hard that is? Do you have any idea how much freight that man has moved, so that most people in this country could be home with their families, and have their local stores constantly full of goods? No, you probably don’t.So until you are willing to drive 2.5 million miles in his shoes…shut the FUCK up, you ungrateful pieces of shit.Thanks.

  16. JurisArcane says:

@wheelfire587 Yeah well you know what hotshot, you check and see how many 18-wheeler caused accidents there are, versus private 4-wheeler vehicles. The interstate was built for trucks, . I know there are some out there that aint worth a damn, but most of them are doing their best to be safe. If you don’t like it, stay your dumbass off the highway. Otherwise cut us some slack, because without us, you’d have to drive 1000s of miles to get to a store or hospital.

  17. JurisArcane says:

@wheelfire587 Oh and one more thing (yeah I’m done with you yet shithead)..When you see drivers swerving, or acting like their going to sleep, keep in mind a few things.1.) Highway regulations are intense. Truckers now have so much paperwork/inspection/exams/and regulations to follow, they easily spend 30-40% of their time doing shit they shouldn’t have to.2.) Trucking, like everything else in America, is mostly corporate. When the companies say go, we go, or we get canned & blackballed.

  18. JurisArcane says:

@wheelfire587 SO, if you want to see less shitty driving from truckers, call your congressman and tell them to mandate corporations so that drivers get paid better, have more hometime with their families, get the rest and health fitness programs they need, and have regulated companies who don’t work them like slaves.Ok, now I’m done with you.Peace.

  19. JrsRage says:

Would you say truckers have a dress code? or they dress like w/e?

  20. wheelfire587 says:

@JurisArcane Get your fucking facts right, I’m a truck driver, I was referring to the regular joes who keep saying “I show respect for truck drivers”, and yet every time I get behind the wheel of my Freightliner Coronado I see the same shit, which is disrespect for us truckers. So before you jump to conclusions read more carefully.OK, I’m done with you.

  21. seansuth says:

@MrJevonmartin Getting ready to. just got my employment papers and travel docs/ So now I’m trying to figure out what to do before the ice roads

  22. seansuth says:

@JrsRage Mostly what ever is in the closet, but you do want to uphold a level of proffesionalizem

  23. JurisArcane says:

@wheelfire587 facts straight? You fucking moron. You aren’t done with shit. You were never started on anything lol.

  24. 1977F150408 says:

@seansuth Unless your company demands a work uniform, which is usually only local drivers.

  25. seansuth says:

@1977F150408 Yeah there are ecceptions, like UPS, FED EX… and Wal Mart, ect…

  29. comet773080 says:

It’s unfortunate that this man is not a rare case in this industry. Lot’s of stress, can’t always eat at regular times, sometimes do the starve and gorge thing which is terrible. Or sometimes can’t park anywhere close to accessible facilities b/c you run out of hrs waiting to be loaded or unloaded.

  30. hey good buddy we will be waiting to see ya back on the road brother… ounce a trucker always a trucker….. them wheels just keep on a rolin
