Question by cowboyup849: can a leak in the plenum gasket cause my 99 dodge 318 fuel injected to run rich?
thanks for the help finding out about my vacuum ploblem just need to kno if that also can make my truck burn rich change the senser a couple of mounths ago on the converter

    Almost ANY vacuum leak will cause a vehicle to run rich, hence decrease your gas mileage. Most leaks are easily located and / or repaired. Get yours fixed asap.

    yes it can ,it will make it run like crap and use a lot of gas,what happens is it allows a vacuum to form inside the engine which shouldn’t happen,and that will cause a real rich mixture,you,ll have to remove that and replace the gaskets,that’s the only known cure for one of those doing that,i have replaced a lot of those that have done that its a well known problem for those trucks,good luck with it.
