on january 19 2011 a JB Hunt driver who was illegally on the hutchinson river parkway slammed into the westchester avenue bridge

@crazeenydriver No. and No… LOL! but I can tell you that I got out the business, while the getting was good. The biggest part of the problem is that all the Regulations and Responsibilities are on the Drivers anymore. Not the Companies. So all the good Drivers are getting out of the business. Day it gets more dangerous. but hey they don’t care (the companies) they will just get a new driver when the bad one is in Jail for killing someone.

I have done a bit of truck driving in my time … Never for JB Hunt or Swift… but I do know they have a reputation as having the crappiest HR department on the planet. They definately treat their drivers like the scum of the earth.. and Here is the thing… They can’t keep good Drivers… Soooo they have to have a constant ‘training’ system that keeps inexperienced drivers driving for them. They train new drivers to fill these trucks Twice monthly. Does that help explain?
Its because J.B Hunt was a 2 term Governor of NC. He became Gov to make his shipping company profitable but could care less for his employees as long as he was lining his pockets with ALL the profits!!!

English literacy aside, driving in NYC is difficult enough in a car when you’re paying attention much less a truck, but this dude can’t have been doing so. As a certain someone’s most excellent website states, there are multiple signs and an expensive sensor system which triggers a warning indicating that you’re overheight and MUST EXIT NOW. Thank God nobody was hurt…imagine him ramming into the toll booths ahead, plowing into stopped traffic or flipping over on an exit ramp!

quest2drive they all suck and Swift’s school is really overpriced and the biggest scam out there as far as training schools because of cost alone. You need to do your own research and go with the cheaper school to get your CDL How much do you want to be in debt starting out and are you planning on meeting your minimal contractual obligations with Swift when you sign up. Swift is basically a slave labor mill training company so you won’t make much your first year going in. Good luck.
skaterboy I am going to truck driving school in weeks (or signing up) i am thinking swift, the real question is how long have you been with swift, it looks like they see to start getting worse as time goes by, I hope not but, bigcats leaving (i think) still waiting on a reason.
