09/17/10: Gov. Quinn Announces Illinois as First State to Begin High-Speed Rail Construction
ALTON – September 17, 2010. Governor Pat Quinn today was joined by officials to announce the start of a million project to upgrade an initial 90 miles of Union Pacific railroad track between Alton and Lincoln in preparation for high-speed rail service. This initial phase will create approximately 900 direct and indirect jobs, and represents the first high-speed rail upgrades in the nation. The project is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). “I am proud to announce that Illinois is the first state in the nation to begin high-speed rail construction,” said Governor Quinn. “When the corridor is completed, travelers will be able to go from Chicago to St. Louis in under four hours, making Illinois the high-speed rail hub of the Midwest. This project is an essential to strengthening Illinois’ economic recovery, creating jobs and developing long-term investment in Illinois.” Illinois’ high-speed rail signature route: Chicago to St. Louis, received .1 billion for corridor improvements. The improvements will allow passenger rail service to operate at speeds up to 110 mph, and will significantly reduce travel times between the two cities. SHUT UP!!!
gd clips in that man
very nice video, great clips
please keep your hands on the wheel and pay attention to the road, i dont care if it is a youtube or not, your going to cause a couple accidents, you try to promote public transportation when you are riding around BY YOURSELF in a FANCY CAR. not to mention you are about to cause an accident with your attention off the road and hands off of the wheel, nice video but it held that bad secret message.
agree 100%
I like this idea.
A lot.
=]
Ok. I’m not a mean person. I just think your message is corrupted when you have clips of you in some fancy car. And maybe, you shouldn’t be so…dramatic in your lip synching. i don’t know. But i think it’s preachy and you just…aren’t that good…sorry
really nice. that was great.
Ja, sehr gut. And : true. US is a country of car driving. But the explosion of fuel prices will force all cities to invest in public transportations more and more. But very expensive when the cities have not (old) infrastructures for public transportation and their ways through the towns. Then you can sometimes only choose new buslines but not tubes etc…
nice vid:) yes, yes. I watched the video.
but yeah, you must know, that also in other “countries” then America there is public transport.
by the way, where did you shot this video?
xoxo your favorite musician:P hehe
I think public transport is pretty important, and
i really like it!!
This is a good message and a good cause, but the message would’ve been better served if you didn’t show yourself driving around in your own car instead of using public transportation.
You have some increadable clips here, great job!
