Question by j-m: would a custom seat/subwoofer enclosure be good idea for pickup truck?
i have a 97 f150 supercab and i really want some bass in my truck but my year truck dosent have many boxes and the ones suck and would probably be a waste of money. some one told me about taking out the rear seat and make a custom box to be a speaker enclosure and seat so would this be a good idea and would it be better than having a custom under seat box. would having 4 ten inch premiers be a good idea too or should i get two

Two is going to be plenty, four is paying too much and every little coin and bolt in your truck will rattle. A truck cab, even with a supercab, is going to be small enough to get plenty of bass. You don’t get more bass out of more speakers, you just get more loudness. For bass and loudness I would get two twelves instead of four 10″s any day, I am running 2 12″s in my civic and they are plenty. If you put it in perspective, you are just trying to get more bass, not a competition soundsystem. You’ll always be best with a custom box if money is not a huge issue, and be sure to hear the difference between ported and sealed boxes.

To cheat, I went to the audio store, asked what they would recommend and got all my questions out on an employee there, and then did it myself.

Whatever you get, be sure to have an amp that can easily power your subs, it sucks to have great speakers that cut out when your amp can’t push them any further.

Good luck!
