question Kory Jorgensen : Does anyone know the specifications of 1986 Chevrolet C10 Custom Deluxe
I inherited a 1986 Chevrolet C10 Custom Deluxe from my father and all I know is that all the shares and has a 350 Chevy small block. All information about the truck or the engine will help. Thanks in advance. Best answer:

Your RPO’s on the sticker in your glove box will tell you everything you need to know about that truck. Just google RPO decoding, and you will be able to look them all up. Important ones: codes starting with (if 3 characters), or the 2nd character starting with (if 4 character codes), G=rear axle codes, M=transmission codes, and L=engine codes.

So you might see GU4 (Standard axle ratio, no help unless you happen to have the GM parts manual for that year) and G80 (locking rear differential), OR they might look something like 1GU4 and 1G80. I’m not sure why sometimes GM added that extra character, it’s meaningless.

    Also, http://brochures.slosh.com/

About as good as you are going to find I hate to say. “1986 truck facts” might give you some info, but barring anything real concrete there, the 2WD half ton (C10) Suburbans that year would be your closest match. I don’t believe the K5′s were even offered in 2WD that late, so being only 4WD, that changes some of the things available/standard. However by that vintage there were only maybe 6 motors being offered, 4 transmissions, and 4 axle rations for the C10, so it’s not like there will be any surprises when you look up the RPO codes.

    Good luck!
