I’m working on getting a 2010, and with luck I’ll have it within the next 2 weeks. Mine will be a 13 OD DD15 ISX. Which I would rather have anyway. I just came out of a Volvo with the I-shift. I’m an old School driver and could get not get used to an automatic. This will be my first truck that I would own. 20 years of driving and it’s taking this long. I guess the time wasn’t right until now.
I bought a 09 western star 4900fa with the automated 18 speed and love it!
We got it with the 82″ sleeper and could not be happier with the quality.

That is a nice Western Star. I worked at a detail shop in Amarillo Texas a few years ago and I detailed a Peterbilt 379EXHD that had a 550 Cat with a Auotshift 18. It was O/O specs but it was from a company fleet in Lubbock. I actually drove it in the yard and I was impressed with how smooth the Autoshift was on both the upshift and downshift. The only other transmissions I have drove were a Rockwell 9 speed and a Eaton-Fuller Super 10 Lightning 2.

From my reseach, the Allison in my HP and torque range comes in OD and I have 3.55 rears.
Ahh so you plan on bolting an allison to your KW? Good luck man. What rear ends does your truck have? From what i heard, they only make direct autos and not overdrives for the heavy duty trannys anyways. I know a guy who was going to drop one in but because of it’s 4:33 rears and a 60 series detroit, it would drive at highway speed ok but it would be way out of the torque range and fuel economy would drop down.
Hi Kyle. No my Highway Hilton is still park. It need some major modification, including an Allison automatic transmission, because of my back and hip problems. The main reason I was in Louisville was to meet with the people from Trick My Truck, but I never heard back from them, or to my letter to the main production office. I’d love to be back on the road in my Highway Hilton.
