question : How can I get more energy out of my V8
I have a 01 dodge ram 5.2l V8 with 318 … truck runs very well has only 78.000 miles on it … to the 3.55 rear end …. I love the truck … Only when I think V8 … I want to prove to me its V8 … more “get go” … it’s just does not seem like it was the power and maybe what you should … A friend of mine is a Chevy S10 with 350 … man that thing will do nothing but crap and get … burn the tires off in almost every gear … My truck does not look like it has half the size …. any suggestions … im not even Rick does not say great … lol THANK best answer:

heads, cam, headers, unosstvari as toCAM and headers will help a lot just maybe not the same band that would dramatically snagusve poboljšanječak 5.9 is not much to get up and go

3.83 gears will help, but if you’re dropping that money, get a programmer.
You can move the air intake sensor from the intake manifold to the air intake, plug the old hole with an NPT fitting.
Unfortunantly the engine is based on very old designs, only being updated for newer technologies, so they had limits as to how much they could get.
thats just dumb to compare a full sized truck with 318 to a midsized s10 that probably has… a whole slew of parts for power… but uhm look into power programmers, exhaust… if you want huge power gains check out a turbo set up… i saw a few dodge pickups on youtube quoting over 500 hp with sts remote turbo set ups
oh and i would like to ad 318 have tons of power i use to have a 1997 b2500 conversion… (aka 2500 van with fiberglass top t.v’s fold down bed exc..) i use to be able to roast the tire through third gear and pull 130 mph on the highway with just the stock 318
A friend of mine had one of those. He had dual exhaust with an x pipe crossover installed on it and it really made a difference. So I would say do that and also install some good headers. But it ain’t going to run with a little S10 with a hot 350. You might as well give that up.

second of all a 381 is a tourqy motor not made for speeed but pulling srry im just in a shity mood any way if you want more power and speed listen you need first a k&n air intake second you need headers 8cylinder headers then last you need flow master exhaust system on it ok thats cheap as it gets legal and if you want a bad ass truck cheaper put a K&N air in take and strait pipes with chrome tips yes my truck has that and it is won loud mofo ok is not legal but it will smoke any Chevy i know of warning this is going to be a loud truck but it will do the job ow and make sure you get true duels umm 4cylinders go into won pipe and 4 cylinders go into the other!
get a mopar performance cam for it with a good set of heads and a good set of headers and you,ll see a real difference in it or for a quicker gain on power add a programmer to it,this will allow you to dial in the timing a lot better and also richen the fuel mixture up and increase the rpm range on it,i guarantee you ,you will see a big difference in it then,good luck.
