@HAMMERxHCA Sub and mid-bass points sound pretty good, but mid to tweets seems pretty high. 12KHz is close to the limit of the average person’s ability to detect, meaning the mids will be playing a lot of highs and the tweeters will have very little presence. If you do this, make sure to place the tweeters as close to the mids as possible. Never separate tweeters a long distance from mids. The imaging suffers.
@emplehod 0-60 Hz for subs, 60-250Hz midbass, 250-12kHz midrange, and 12Khz – Up for tweets. That would be one lowpass filter, two band pass filters (or 2 LPF’s and 2 HPF’s) each for midbass and midrange, capable of going as low as 60Hz and high as 12kHz (or so), and then one HPF for the tweeters. I can accomplish this using a mixture of the electronic crossover and the crossover on the amps. I just wasnt sure if this is the proper way to set-up an active system like this, if amp x/o is adequate
@emplehod Hey thanks for the answer! I looked through the manual, and found exactly what you said. Those are VERY low frequencies, I will not even be touching that crossover. I was trying to find a way to cossover my system install with this headunit (didnt have the paper manual) and using an elect. crossover. I guess I will have to use my amp’s crossovers to set-up a bandpass where the external x/o is missing the freq range needed. I am looking at tweets, midrange, midbass, and sub. from
@HAMMERxHCA No head unit has a mid-range crossover. That would be a band-pass filter. They typically have only high-pass crossovers and these would be at low frequencies like 60Hz, 80Hz, 120Hz, etc.
@HAMMERxHCA This Head unit has a 7-band equalizer so you will for sure be able to adjust you mids at a much lower frequency. Head Units usually have a much lower high pass filter sometimes as low as 50 HZ.
Hey SonicElectronix, I was wondering if this head unit offers any crossover features?
I am going to install a Lanzar OptiX10 crossover to my system, but the HPF on it are too high (12kHz and up) for my mids. I want to cross my kids at a much lower frequency than what the active x/o offers. Can I use this headunit to further cross over the mids? Or would my only choice me to use my amp’s filter?
Thanks!
@TJHolmes80 This headunit does support iphone 4 but not pandora.
Does the deck support playing video from an ipod? Is it compatible with the iphone 4? Does it support Pandora??….thanks
@Catalysis1144 That is good to know. We will update our records!
@SonicElectronixTV Check Manual page 16 .. I did uploaded pics from my USB
@parqueros3ce That is easy. First put the pictures in your USB & choose USB as your source then go to settings menu & choose “Disc” sittings the go to “File type” & choose “Still picture” then after that open your USB source so you can see your picture & you can upload up to 4 pictures in user capture 1-4. ___Check Manual page 16_
@parqueros3ce Unfortunately, we do not have this information available. Please contact the manufacurer to obtain this information.
I was wondering if u can help me? How can I get it to put my own pictures as wallpaper?
@DeanoPoker Unfortunately we don’t have much of anything that only has a power button on the front. The Power Acoustik PT-700MHR does not have any buttons on the face, so that may be your best option. We do also have some great deals on monitors with more buttons, such as the ScyTek PV-HR-700P.
@DeanoPoker There aren’t too many specific “Center Channel” speakers on the market for car audio applications. One exception to this would be the Pioneer TS-CX7, which is one of the better options available. However, any single 3.5″ – 4″ coaxial speaker should do the trick. Plus, since those speakers are usually sold as a pair, you’ll have a spare!
I’m also looking for a 7′ screen to custom mount in front passenger dash. I’m after a screen that has only a power (on/off) button on the front. All other controls need to be via remote. Any suggestions?
What speaker do you recommend for the centre channel?
@JDMCam87 I would highly suggest it, it is an amazing unit and the sound quality is great. Its also easy to use and has many features that will make you happy.
@SonicElectronixTV damn ima gonna hav to get this thn
@naks26 You can definitely hook up a reverse camera to this unit and it will display the moment it goes live. It also has a set of RCA A/V inputs just incase the screen is too small and you want to add an external monitor.
@JDMCam87 Yes the unit comes with a remote for convenience and ease of use.
Does this unit have support for an external RCA PAL input from a reversing camera? If so, does it display that when the camera goes live? thanks!
